Port of Brisbane proudly supports Quandamooka Jarjums Camp

24 October 2025

This month, over 50 Year 6 students from across Quandamooka Country gathered on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) for the annual Quandamooka Jarjums Camp, a vibrant celebration of First Nations culture, storytelling, and connection.

Since 2015, Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) has proudly supported Dunwich State School, Minjerribah Moorgumpin Elders in Council, Yulu Burri Ba to help deliver this unique cultural immersion experience.

PBPL CEO Neil Stephens said supporting education initiatives like the Camp is a key focus of our Reconciliation work.

“The camp provides students with the opportunity to connect with Elders, participate in traditional dance and food preparation, and learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Quandamooka People,” said Mr Stephens.

“We’re incredibly proud to support the Camp every year. It’s a powerful experience that fosters connection, understanding and respect, not just for the students, but for everyone involved.”

As PBPL celebrates over a decade of partnership, it reaffirms its commitment to reconciliation and community partnerships that foster respect, learning and shared value.
