Market leading tyre brand Bridgestone has cut the ribbon on its next-generation Queensland Distribution Centre at Port of Brisbane’s Port West Industrial Estate (Stage 2) in Lytton.

The purpose-built facility supports Bridgestone’s future growth and streamlines operations in supplying its network of retail and wholesale customers throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.

Delivered by Port of Brisbane with Principal Contractor, McNab, the facility comprises a 23,340sqm warehouse, 350sqm dock office, approximately 20,340 sqm of concrete hardstand and 3,786 sqm carparking areas on a 5.16ha site.

It incorporates sustainable design elements including access to 100% renewable power for its operations through PBPL’s embedded energy network, 1MW rooftop solar and 1MW Battery Energy Storage System, as well as shared fire services and water efficient fittings.

Throughout construction, low carbon concrete was used extensively on external areas with recycled materials incorporated into the civil works.

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) Chief Executive Officer, Neil Stephens, welcomed Bridgestone to the port community and congratulated all involved.

“We worked closely with Bridgestone Australia to understand its business and are pleased to have delivered a tailored, turnkey solution for its Queensland Distribution Centre, mobilising quickly to complete the facility within a compressed timeframe,” Mr Stephens said.

“This new distribution centre will bring significant efficiency gains to their wharf-to-warehouse logistics, supporting Bridgestone’s operations now and into the future.”

Bridgestone Australia & New Zealand Managing Director, Heath Barclay, said that the opening of the Lytton distribution centre represents the continued investment the company makes into long-term, sustainable growth and continuous improvement of customer service in the Australian market.

“The opening of our new Queensland distribution centre in Lytton highlights our commitment to continuing to serve our customers in the most efficient way. It exemplifies Bridgestone's commitment to the future, showcasing our dedication to sustainable business practices and ensuring we have the infrastructure to support both current and future operations,” Mr Barclay said.

Construction commenced in August 2024 and was completed in April 2025.

Port West (Stage 2) comprises approximately 26.8 hectares of developable land, which is being brought online progressively to meet demand.  It is currently home to Electrolux Group and adjoins Stage 1 of the estate, home to 11 global and national trade-related businesses including Bunnings, Steelforce and Fisher & Paykel.
