BICT car park expansion completed

Around 340 additional car parking spaces are now available for passengers and staff at the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal, with the car park expansion project completed.

Designed by Arup and delivered by Principal Contractor, PPQ, the expansion has significantly boosted onsite parking to a total of 1,280 spaces across the site for passengers and staff.

Port of Brisbane CEO, Neil Stephens, said the extra parking was coming online as passengers started booking ahead of the busy summer months.

“We know that there is huge demand for onsite car parking at the BICT, which is why we’ve completed this work well ahead of the new cruise season which starts in October,” said Mr Stephens.

“Over 150 cruise ships are expected to call at the BICT during the 2024/25 cruise season, which runs from October 2024 to September 2025.

“As we did last year, we’re expecting another very busy high season from October 2024 to April 2025. So, we encourage anyone looking to park at the cruise terminal to jump online early and book via the Wilson Parking website.

“Car park bookings can be made up to six months in advance and must be made via Wilson Parking.

“During these quieter winter months, we’re also delivering other improvement works to the terminal.

“We have recently completed an expansion to the taxi rank’s marshalling area to increase capacity and are installing additional shade structures to some of the outdoor areas.

“These improvements are all designed to further enhance the passenger experience at our world-class cruise terminal.”
