Community organisations needing a funding boost are encouraged to get in touch with the Port of Brisbane with its 2026/27 $100,000 Community Grant Program now open.
Eligible organisations are able to apply for grants up to $15,000, with applications closing Thursday 30 April.
Port of Brisbane CEO, Neil Stephens, said the program has provided more than $1.3 million in funding to support local and regional organisations from Brisbane’s Bayside, the South East corner and southern Queensland since 2013.
“Our grant program continues to strengthen our partnerships with both emerging and established community organisations throughout our trade hinterland,” Mr Stephens said.
“Last year, we proudly supported 12 organisations working to uplift youth, provide essential assistance to families, preserve local history and lead citizen science initiatives in the community.
“These grants are providing vital resources to enable not-for-profit and community organisations to make a tangible difference through their local projects and initiatives.
“We’re encouraging eligible organisations who support community wellbeing, youth development, environmental sustainability, or arts and culture to apply.”
SAILS at Bayside – a local not-for-profit organisation helping to create greater inclusion for at risk youth, disadvantaged community members and the general public – was one of last year’s inspiring recipients.
Its President, Ian Carr, said the funding helped cover event-specific costs and expand volunteer training to ensure activities remain accessible, safe and engaging.
“For many of the young people we work with, it’s their first time experiencing the freedom and joy of being out on the water. It’s a powerful way to build trust, resilience and life skills.”
Organisations with projects or initiatives across education, community, and environment should consider the grant funding, with First Nations organisations strongly encouraged to apply.
