our culture
We’re proud of our culture. We welcome diversity within our teams and acknowledge that our people are the source of our success. We are committed to providing all our people with an environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity and our teams have a range of perspectives and experiences, so you can be sure that your contribution will be valued.
We actively encourage and manage diversity, finding ways to utilise different life experiences and knowledge to generate alternative views about work and how best to accomplish it to improve our business. To achieve this, we seek to accommodate the unique needs of many different employees. Above all, we are committed to ensuring that all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
We promote accountability, collaboration and performance within our teams and provide opportunities for our employees to build strong relationships with their peers, including through our active Social Club.

OUR WORKPLACES
Our Head Office, aptly named the Port Office, is located amongst 70 different businesses across a 1,860 hectare footprint. Our building is a state of the art facility, the first to achieve a 5 star Green star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia, and boasts stunning 360o views across both the operational workings of the port and the far-reaching islands of Moreton Bay. This view is always changing, with more than 2,500 vessel calls annually into the port and $600 million of planned capital expenditure to continue developing our precincts over the next 5 years. With collaborative working areas, coffee and recreational facilities, an on-site café, free parking and 15 minutes from the Gateway Motorway, you’ll find it’s different to what you’d expect out here.
With a number of our operational areas located close by, from vessels to workshops and construction sites to rail terminals, you could find yourself working in a diverse range of environments, such as surveying from a vessel, monitoring our precincts as roving Security Officers or even tracking the progress of our environmental programs around the port and its surrounding waterways.
OUR SAFETY
Safety First is our number one value. Together, we are committed to creating and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for all. We’re working hard to ensure our culture inspires personal commitment and empowers everyone to keep our workplaces safe. Working with world class leaders in this field, we’re continually challenging and improving the way we do things.
OUR COMMUNITY
We care about the community and environment in which we live and work. Employees are encouraged to donate one day of their time each year to a worthy local charity, on us. We manage a range of sponsorship initiatives for not-for-profit and charity partners to encourage environmental, community and educational programs and we fundraise throughout the year for an employee nominated charity.
For us, sustainability at the Port means we facilitate trade and economic growth, while protecting, sustaining and enhancing the environment, the well-being of our people, and the community. Initiatives aimed at reducing our ecological footprint include energy efficient and waste reduction projects, an employee education program, and a commitment to sustainable habitats and a green built environment at the port.
OUR CODE OF CONDUCT
Our Code sets out the standards of responsibility and ethical conduct required of every employee and contractor whilst working at PBPL and is underpinned by our core values.
Our success as an organisation depends greatly on how we demonstrate commitment to achieving exceptional results the right way. At PBPL, our values guide us in delivering each of our strategies, programs and projects so that we can continue to perform and deliver for our customers, stakeholders and the community. Our values emphasise the thinking and practices that support our success as we move forward and establish a common understanding about how we work.
Our core values haven’t changed over the last 10 years and they remain just as relevant today. Safety, Innovation, People, Integrity and Accountability. These are still the values that guide us in performing and delivering for our customers, stakeholders and the community.
Our values emphasise the thinking and practices that underpin our success as we move forward and establish a common understanding about how we work. They should be woven through everything we do, from our day-to-day decision making to our key employee activities.
Our Code of Conduct provides us with a framework to ensure that we – individually and collectively – make the right decisions. It outlines the Company’s commitments to our people as well as our expectations of them.
We encourage you to take some time to read through our Code of Conduct.
