The Brisbane Multimodal Terminal (BMT) is the interface between rail, road and the container terminals at the Port of Brisbane.
The facility operates during the following times:
• Monday to Friday: 6.30am to 5.30pm
• Saturday: 10:00am to 2.00pm
• Sunday: Closed
Note: Operating hours are determined on rail schedules and demand.
The integration of these transport modes, including a dual-gauge rail link, enables the movement of large volumes of interstate and intrastate cargo into and out of the port by rail. The BMT also has an electronic interface with rail, shipping and container terminals to monitor freight containers as they move through the Port.
The BMT can also offer interim depot solutions for import and export dry and refrigerated containerised cargo (i.e. providing short-term storage for import containers and pre-receiving containers for export). For under bond FCL movement the BMT Customs Depot Licence number is GA66E.
The BMT is licenced as a major hazard facility under the Queensland Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act & Regulation (2011). For more information about this licence, please click here.
Freight forwarders, shipping lines, road-transport and rail operators (with access to the facility) can click here to carry out an online search to locate their containers at the BMT or view the price schedule. Customers who wish to undertake extended searches or require reports, should contact the BMT on 07 3258 4860 to arrange secure access.
