Brisbane International Cruise Terminal wraps up milestone 2024/25 season

Tuesday 30 September 2025

The Brisbane International Cruise Terminal (BICT) has closed out a successful winter, marking the end of the 2024/25 cruise season.

The BICT facilitated 154 vessel calls, including 8 maiden visits from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025, taking locals and visitors from Brisbane to destinations along the Queensland coast and to South Pacific destinations.

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) CEO Neil Stephens said the strong season reflected Brisbane’s growing reputation as a key cruise gateway in the nation’s cruise sector.

“In January 2025, we marked a significant milestone, with our two millionth passenger movement recorded through the BICT – a testament to the continued appeal of Brisbane as a cruise hub for Queensland,” Mr Stephens said.

“We also navigated the disruption of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in March, with our teams working closely with cruise stakeholders to maintain safe and efficient operations, demonstrating the resilience and agility of Brisbane’s cruise network.

“As we look ahead to the 2025/26 season, we’ll continue to collaborate with all our cruise partners to enhance the cruise experience out of Brisbane and build on the momentum this season.

“We’re grateful to our cruise customers, partners, and their dedicated teams who deliver a smooth and memorable experience for every passenger at the BICT.”

2025/26 summer season sets sail

The 2025/26 season is underway, with returning vessels and 9 maiden callers expected to call at the BICT, including Voyager of the Seas, Queen Anne, Discovery Princess and Island Princess.

Cruise operations remain a strategic focus for PBPL, supporting regional tourism, local business engagement, and economic development.

The 2025/26 season presents further opportunities for all partners to continue working together to strengthen Brisbane’s cruise offering and benefit cruise destinations and local communities along Queensland’s coast.
