We believe it’s time that society and business recognise that both parents are responsible for raising children. We want to remove barriers for our employees to sharing care responsibilities around the time of childbirth, surrogacy, or adoption of a child.

Eligible PBPL parents now have equal access to:

SUPERANNUATION TOP UP
We also recognise the long-term impact of caring responsibilities on superannuation balances. Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) data shows that women retire on average with 46.6% less superannuation than men, which is partially attributed to women taking extended periods of leave out of the workforce.
That is why we continue to pay super throughout the first year of parental leave, regardless of whether your leave is paid or unpaid.

FLEXIBLE WORK OPTIONS
We recognise that everyone has different priorities and responsibilities at different times in their life, whether that’s raising a family, embarking on a career transition or another personal pursuit. We’re open to discussing a range of flexible work options with you.
PURCHASE EXTRA LEAVE
We understand that sometimes 4 weeks of annual leave isn’t enough time to take that holiday you’ve been dreaming about or spend time with your family. To help with this, you can purchase up to 6 weeks additional leave each year.
EXTRA LEAVE DAY
To show you our appreciation for all your hard work, you’ll receive one annual leave day at Christmas, on us.
EARLY ACCESS TO LONG SERVICE LEAVE
You don’t have to work 10 years at PBPL to access Long Service Leave. After 7 years of continuous service, you can apply for pro-rated Long Service leave.

We care about the health and wellbeing of our people. DOMESTIC & FAMILY VIOLENCE LEAVE
If you’re facing a difficult personal situation such as domestic and family violence (DFV), you can access support via our Employee Assistance program, discretionary leave, flexible working arrangements and/or workplace support.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
At PBPL, employees and their immediate family have access to free, confidential coaching, counselling and wellbeing services through our Employee Assistance Program.
FITNESS
We offer free gym facilities on or near all our worksites, and subsidised Personal & Group Fitness training is available in the Port Office gym.
