Twelve organisations from the Bayside, greater Brisbane and south east Queensland (SEQ) will get a vital funding boost to support their important work through the 2026/27 Port of Brisbane Community Grants Program.
This year’s grants are supporting organisations from Wynnum to Somerset Dam who are delivering mental health, education, housing, youth programs, environmental and cultural awareness initiatives in their local communities.
Since launching its Community Grant Program in 2013, Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) has invested more than $1.4 m through this program to support community organisations deliver meaningful initiatives across the local and regional areas.
At a morning tea event to celebrate recipients, Port of Brisbane CEO, Neil Stephens, reaffirmed the Port’s commitment to strengthening local communities through meaningful support.
“Every year I look forward to meeting the Port of Brisbane Community Grant Recipients – a mix of old friends and our newest partners,” said Mr Stephens.
“The work they do in their local and regional communities is humbling – connecting deeply with people and delivering projects and initiatives that truly make a difference.
“From local schools, First Nations organisations, environmental custodians and community hubs, this year’s recipients reflect our region’s diverse communities. We extend our congratulations to all grant recipients and thank them for the incredible work they’re doing to enrich lives and help build stronger, more resilient communities.”

- Bayside Shelter Inc - Supporting financially disadvantaged people transition into private rental properties.
- Stepping Stones Clubhouse - Supporting adults with mental health challenges gain sustainable employment through transitional work and skills development.
- Nudgee Beach Environmental Education Centre - Funding to enable First Nations Elders enrich programs cultural knowledge.
- Manly West SS P&C - Improvements to playground to provide a safe, durable play and work environment for all students and staff.
- Wondall Heights SS P&C - Supporting the transformation of the school library into an inclusive community hub that supports student wellbeing and family understanding of childhood anxiety.
- BABI Youth & Family Service - Leadership camp for the Youth Voice Committee, building connection and collaboration through outdoor education.
- Stanley River Environment Education Centre - Students monitoring water quality and river health from catchment to coast, building long-term data for Moreton Bay stewardship.
- Australian Commercial Vessel Operators Association - Safety training for students entering the maritime industry.
- Wynnum State High School - Support to establish a local maritime training centre in partnership with TAFE Queensland and local industry.
- Nyanda Life - Supporting conservation through traditional ecological knowledge to guide native planting and on-country land management.
- Ocean Crusaders - Targeted marine debris and pollution removal project in the Brisbane River and local creeks near to the Port of Brisbane.
- Moreton Bay Foundation - Developing the Moreton Bay Passport App that rewards exploration of Moreton Bay through location-based activities while generating valuable environmental data.
