Port Stakeholders,
With the remnants of ex-TC Alfred moving on and operations through the port resuming, this will be the last port-wide communique regarding our severe weather response.
As per Regional Harbour Master’s directions, the shipping channel is nearly back to full operations. Final surveys on the Northwest Channel have been completed and upstream of Pelican Banks will occur from late today and through tomorrow. Any further advice on restrictions in these areas will be communicated through the RHM.
While SEQ Water has advised that it will be undertaking dam releases, it is expected that these will not be significant and will have minimal impact on operations here at the Port.
As always, should conditions change and require further action, that will be communicated to you in due course.
Lastly, thank you to all stakeholders for the collaborative manner in which you have worked with our teams to respond to this emergency situation. The Port of Brisbane community can be rightly proud of how it worked together to prioritise safety and ultimately return operations back to normal as soon as possible.
Kind regards
PBPL Team
