TC Alfred update - Monday, 3 March 2025 1300hrs
Port Stakeholders
As per yesterday’s message, the shipping channel remains closed for inbound vessels, under direction from Maritime Safety Queensland’s (MSQ) Regional Harbour Master.
Final outbound transits have occurred this morning for a number of vessels. Please see a
summary of MSQ’s latest advice below.
With the weather situation worsening over the coming days, it is important to again ensure all Port tenants and businesses carry out their own severe weather preparation processes, including tying down any equipment or plant, securing all cargoes and reducing container stacks where possible.
Finally, in response to queries, it is also important to note that the above-mentioned closure relates only to vessel transits through the shipping channel. There is currently no intention of altering landside access to Fisherman Islands or other Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd precincts. All Port
tenants/businesses are advised to implement their own severe weather preparedness plans, adhere to State and Local Government/Emergency Management directions, and make decisions regarding their own operations.
