Sub-bottom Profiling

Sub-bottom profiling systems enable the measurements of various sediment layers that exist below the sediment/water interface.  The depth of penetration depends on the hardness of the overlying layers and is used frequently to measure the thickness of dredged material deposits. In addition, the team use sub-bottom profiling to identify buried objects such as cables and pipelines which can be merged with mulitbeam data to produce the completed 3D solution of seabed surface and layers below.
