PBPL welcomes the Hoegh Trigger

On 16 March 2016, Port of Brisbane welcomed the Hoegh Trigger from Europe during her maiden voyage to Australia. The vessel berthed at the Port of Brisbane’s automotive terminal, AAT where she unloaded and loaded vehicles and high heavy/break bulk cargoes.

New Brisbane International Cruise Terminal

Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) has received Stage 1 approval from the Queensland Government for its Market-led Proposal (MLP) to deliver a $100 million Brisbane International Cruise Terminal for South-east Queensland (SEQ) at Luggage Point, at the mouth of the Brisbane River.

Busy year for dredging

It’s been a busy year for PBPL’s dredging team who completed a significant vessel refit in late-2015 as well as servicing a number of external contracts alongside their regular maintenance dredging programs. PBPL maintains 90km of navigational shipping channel that stretches from the northern tip of Bribie Island across Moreton Bay into the Brisbane River.

Observation Cafe now open

We are delighted to announce that our newly refurbished cafe has now reopened. PBPL’s Observation Cafe underwent renovations for two weeks in April which saw the installation of sound absorbing acoustic panels on the walls and ceiling.

The new Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) was unveiled on 1 July 2015, signalling a major change in the way Australia’s borders are managed. The Australian Customs and Border Protection Services (ACBPS) has ceased and the Australian Border Force now stood up as the operational and enforcement arm of the new Department.
