Visitors Centre

The Port of Brisbane Visitors’ Centre, is located on the ground floor of the Port Office
and provides an interactive educational experience including how the port works, where Australia exports goods to and which countries we import goods from. The Visitors Centre also includes interactive displays of the Port’s dedicated migratory shorebird roost.

Port Tours

We provide a range of port tour options, from individual tours to group community tours. The Explorer tours are one hour tours; however, our group community and school tours can be catered to meet your interests.

Explorer’s Tours

On this fascinating land bus tour you’ll see the daily activities of the port, and learn from your tour guide how an efficient and sustainable port operates, as well as how PBPL protects the environmental values of the area. Bookings are essential
The bus departs the Port of Brisbane Port Office on Tuesday and Wednesday at 12.30pm.

School Tour

Our School group tours begin and finish at the Port of Brisbane Visitors Centre, 3 Port Central Avenue, Port of Brisbane. All in a Day's Work, a DVD highlighting the varied activities that take place at Australia’s third busiest capital city port, can be made available prior to your visit, or viewed online.  Your group can view our interactive display area before re-boarding your bus with our tour guide.  Your guide will take you on a tour to see towering cranes loading and unloading ships, trucks and trains moving cargo across the port, as well as the many products that move in and out of this busy port every day.

Other activities near the Port of Brisbane

Why not combine your port visit with a tour of Fort Lytton? This historic site, built in 1881, is one of several coastal fortifications built along Australia's coast in the 19th century to safeguard shipping lanes and ports from possible enemy raids.

Community tours

Tours begin at the Port Office with a guided tour of the display area, and conclude with a drive-through tour of the port. Tours must be pre-booked and we recommend that you allow a minimum of one and a half hours for your visit.

Community tours are $190 per tour group, and can be booked on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Enjoy fantastic views of the port and bay islands from the Port of Brisbane's Cafe on Level 7 of the Port Office building. The Cafe provides visitors with a casual dining experience in relaxed surroundings, with a unique view. The daily menu has a selection of light meals, snacks, cake, coffee and cold drinks available.

Port of Brisbane Conference Facilities

The Port of Brisbane Visitors Centre offers a diverse range of  facilities in the heart of the Port of Brisbane. Function spaces can accommodate up to 60 guests and include six modern conference rooms, foyer, and outdoor area.

Away from the confines of the city, the Port Office offers ample free parking with open spaces for your group to relax and enjoy the unique surroundings. Events can be customised to suit all budgets and appetites.
