A reenergised Employee Volunteer Program has seen PBPL employees out helping our community partners over recent months, with over 250 hours of volunteer work completed during November and December alone.
It’s clear that our people are keen to make a difference and ‘give back’ to the local community.
So far this year, we’ve supported Foodbank, Traction, Rural Aid and Ocean Crusaders, helping with a wide range of activities including environmental clean-ups, packing relief food hampers, bike-building workshops for disadvantaged youth and packing Christmas letters to farmers.
We’re also working the BBQ here at the Port – sizzling sausages and raising money for our 2020/21 Employee Charity, Friends with Dignity.
Thanks to the appetite of the local port community, we’ve so far sizzled 25 kilograms of sausages and sold 120 cans of soft drink to raise over $1,100 for Friends with Dignity. With more BBQ’s planned for 2021, our fundraising contributions will continue grow!
Most recently, 17 employees from across our Finance, Technology, People & Performance and Development, Assets & Sustainability Teams lent a hand to The Smith Family, helping with its annual Toy and Book Appeal.
We’ll be back out in the community in 2021, with plenty of new activities lined up.
