Dredging
The Port of Brisbane requires regular maintenance dredging to keep the channels deep enough for ships to enter. Every year our dredgers remove 1 million m3 of clays and fine silts from the port's berths and shipping channels. This material accumulates as a result of tidal action and sediments washed from the catchment. We are experts in maintenance and development dredging, and own a fleet of vessels to manage a wide range of dredging situations. The flagship of our dredging fleet, theBrisbane, spends up to five months of the year dredging at other Queensland ports, and has completed projects in New South Wales and Tasmania.
