Road networks

The Port of Brisbane has major road connections north, south and west.

The main southern routes include the Pacific, Newell and New England Highways link the port to Sydney and major regional centres of New South Wales.

The Bruce and Burnett Highways link the port to Queensland’s regional cities and their vast mining and agricultural industries.

The Warrego, Moonie and Cunningham Highlights provide important inland links to Queensland’s rural areas.

The Port of Brisbane Motorway links to the Gateway Motorway, which connects to the Ipswich and Loan Motorways.  This road network provides access to the nearby regional growth areas of the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast.

Kingsford Smith Drive, Nudgee Road, Breakfast Creek Road, Sandgate Road, Lytton road and the Gateway Motorway are the major local roads that provide access to the Port of Brisbane.

Truck restrictions now apply between Goodna and Wishart (via the Brisbane Urban Corridor and Ipswich Motorway). See www.mainroads.qld.gov.au for more information.
