Berths 11 & 12

FAST FORWARD

THE PORT OF BRISBANE CORPORATION IS FAST TRACKING AUSTRALIAN CONTAINER MOVEMENT IN ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING REGIONS IN THE WORLD.

Due to strong forecasted regional and trade growth, the Port of Brisbane Corporation will be reviewing proposals from suitably qualified terminal operators in relation to two new berths at its Fisherman Islands facility. The request for the proposal process closed on the 15 December 2006 and will be under evaluation in early 2007.

The facilities of Berths 11 and 12 will comprise:

  • Approximately 350 metres of wharf 11 and 310 metres of wharf 12
  • Approximately 14 hectares of terminal 11 and 12.4 hectares of terminal 12
  • 14 metres of depth alongside
  • 24-year lease (option may be available)

PBC is therefore seeking an operator who will drive new container trade through the port at a reasonable price and service level. Accordingly, proponents have been asked to address the selection criteria as outlined below in their submission.

The key selection criteria include the proponent's:

  • Capacity to manage growth;
  • Ability to attract new business;
  • Impact on competition;
  • Resources and experience; and
  • Financial capacity/capability.
