Northshore Hamilton
Northshore Hamilton is one of the largest urban renewal projects ever envisaged for Brisbane.
The Port of Brisbane Corporation established the Northshore Development Group in 2003 to oversee the master-planning, infrastructure development and sale of the Corporation’s 64 hectares of former port land.
The group prepared a comprehensive master-plan for this area, between Portside Wharf and Royal Queensland Golf Course, and negotiated with Brisbane City Council the introduction of a new Neighborhood Plan.
The Northshore Development Group commenced development of the initial stages of this future world-class mixed-use community by constructing the 2.5ha Northshore Riverside Park, establishing Northshore Riverside Café, and extending the existing MacArthur Avenue to connect with Barcham Street.
In addition, the first two development lots, Lot 1 and 3, are being sold through a two-stage Expression of Interest process.
The creation of the Urban Land Development Authority in 2008 provided an opportunity to expand the Northshore Hamilton master-planned area to incorporate a much broader expanse of land up to the existing alignment of the Gateway Motorway.
The Urban Land Development Authority, in conjunction with Northshore Development Group, is now in the process of preparing a revised master-plan for Northshore Hamilton.
