Port of Brisbane Corporation - Environmental Review:Scarborough Harbour
February 2000
Hyder Environmental
Hyder Environmental was commissioned to undertake an environmental review of Scarborough Boat Harbour, as part of reporting requirements to Queensland Transport and the annual Corporation auditing process. The review provides an assessment of the environmental performance of each site at the Boat Harbour in terms of legislative compliance (especially in relation to ERAs) and meeting accepted codes of environmental practice.
The five sites reviewed within Scarborough Boat Harbour were: Moreton Bay Boat Club; Scarborough Trawler Fishing Co; Huxham Pty Ltd; Scarborough Harbour Marine Pty Ltd; and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard. The methodology for the review included desktop analyses, field audits, review of legislation relevant to the Harbour, risk assessment and action plan development. Field audits were conducted between 8 -18 November 1999.
The major finding of the review was that the environmental performance at Scarborough Boat Harbour is generally good, especially in relation to management approaches and operational procedures.
