Rick Morton
Rick Morton

General Manager Planning and Environment

Rick is responsible for the planning, environmental and community issues that affect the port and the Corporation. These responsibilities include managing the port's strategic port land and property, the environmental and social impact of the port, and the operation of the Visitors Centre.

Rick has over 20 years’ experience in all facets of environmental planning and management. Prior to joining the Corporation, he worked for a major consulting company undertaking consultancies in Australia and Asia, many of which involved ports. He also has a strong background in fisheries, having worked as a researcher for seven years.

Rick has a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, and a PhD specialising in management of environmental impacts associated with coastal development.

Jason Sprott
Jason Sprott

Manager Planning

Jason is responsible for managing the strategic and land use planning processes for the Corporation, including the assessment manager function under the Integrated Planning Act 1997.

Jason has extensive experience in statutory, strategic and environmental planning, having held positions in both local government and the private sector.

He holds a Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning and a Master of Science (Environmental Management), and is a Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ).

Brad Kitchen
Brad Kitchen

Manager Environment

Brad is responsible for managing the environmental issues associated with port operations and development, including the Corporation’s Environmental Management System.

Brad has over 15 years’ experience in the environmental field for both industrial and rural sectors, including private and government agencies. Prior to joining the Corporation, he worked for one of Australia’s largest private engineering consultants, specialising in areas of environmental management systems, environmental auditing, and land management, including site contamination assessments and remediation. He has also worked extensively with environmental monitoring systems in the areas of air pollution and soil management.

Brad has a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) and a technical background in Applied Biology, and is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia.

Tom Smith
Tom Smith

Manager Property Administration

Tom is responsible for the ongoing administration of the growing portfolio of industrial and commercial leases over Port-owned land, while managing the Corporation’s land tenure interests, along with native title and cultural heritage issues.

Tom has over twenty years’ experience with government and Government Owned Corporations in all elements of property and property management, with a recent focus on leading a team responsible for a large state-wide lease portfolio.

He will represent the Corporation in the resolution of property tenure matters, and has strong networks in the property industry.

He has a diploma qualification in journalism.

Sue Koreman
Sue Koreman

Sustainability Business Manager

Sue is responsible for developing short, medium and long-term strategies to ensure resource consumption reductions are realised for both the Corporation and the Port of Brisbane.

Stuart Ward
Stuart Ward

Manager Visitors Centre

Stuart is responsible for the operation of the Port of Brisbane Visitors Centre, that is located at the Port of Brisbane. The Centre includes a restaurant, cafe, theatrette and display area, and caters for the community and school groups, port users, employees and the general public.

Stuart has over 17 years' experience in hospitality, including managing the complete catering facilities for one of England's commercial airports. He has a Degree in Hospitality Management (Hons), and a Masters Certification in Business Math.
