Corporation dredger Korea bound
The Port of Brisbane Corporation has sold its ocean-going dredger, the Sir Thomas Hiley, to South Korean industrial and development company, Yong Ho. Yong Ho representatives have arrived in Brisbane to prepare the vessel for the 20-day voyage to Korea.

Port of Brisbane Corporation attracts another industrial support services group
Over four hectares of the Port of Brisbane Corporation’s Whyte Island Estate have been earmarked for the development of a 15,000 square metre warehouse to be leased by United Transport Services, a subsidiary of global support services group Brambles Industries Limited. This area constitutes 19.5% of the total available land at the newly launched Estate.

Visitors’ Centre to showcase port environment
Construction of a $3.2 million energy-efficient Visitors’ Centre on Fisherman Islands at the mouth of the Brisbane River will commence in early June, with the Port of Brisbane Corporation announcing the AbiGroup as the successful tenderer for the Bligh Voller Nield-designed facility.

The Port of Brisbane Corporation last week entered into a joint venture agreement with WADRECO, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Waterway Construction Corporation (VINAWACO), to provide port-related and dredging services in Vietnam and other Asian countries.
