Construction of the Port of Brisbane Motorway upgrade, Port Connect, is well underway, with activity now along the length of the corridor.
On completion, the new motorway will deliver increased traffic flow and safety for motorists travelling to and from the port.
As part of these upgrades, Freight Street, from Trade Street to Lytton Road, will be closed before ultimately becoming a cul-de-sac (please see attached map).
Preparatory works will be undertaken between 8pm and 4am on 17 and 20 November, and will include minor modifications to the signalised intersection of Port Drive and Export Street, new signage and the extension of turning lanes.
From Monday 21 November, traffic on Lytton Road will no longer be able to turn into Freight Street and traffic entering Freight Street from Export Street will only be able to access the Lytton Industrial Estate.
Local traffic access to business beyond the Trade Street intersection will be maintained during temporary works and on completion of the upgrade.
