South African delegation visits the port


The Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) welcomed members from the South African KwaZulu Natal Trade and Investment delegation to the port as part of Export Week on Wednesday 19 October 2011.

The delegation was lead by Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Hon Michael Mabuyakhulu, and included representatives from the South African trade and economics industry.

PBPL Chief Executive Officer Russell Smith welcomed the group to the port and spoke to them about the ports recent privatisation, before Manager Trade Alan Turner gave a presentation on trade and future plans for the port.

The group later enjoyed a lunch in the ports new Observation Cafe, and were taken on a guided tour around the island.

 


Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Hon Michael Mabuyakhulu and Deputy Director General Department of Economic Development & Tourism, Mr Siddiq Adam enjoyed the view from the Observation Cafe.
