Port of Brisbane - Here for the future

Port Ecosystem

The Port of Brisbane at Fisherman Islands exists in a sensitive ecological environment. It is located adjacent to the Moreton Bay Marine Park, which is home to many precious plants and animals. Fisherman Islands includes over 150 hectares of mangroves, which provide a habitat for a variety of fish and crustaceans. It also has roosting sites for 42 species of migratory and resident shorebirds, waterbirds and birds of prey, and extensive intertidal flats and seagrass areas, which are among the largest in the west Moreton Bay region. We are committed to protecting the ecosystem of the port and its surroundings.
