Port Tours

We provide a range of port tour options, from individual paid tours to free group community tours. The Explorer tours are one hour tours; however, our free group community and school tours can be catered to meet your interests. For booking enquires, please contact 07 3258 4677.


Explorer’s Tours

On this fascinating land bus tour you’ll see the daily activities of the port, and learn from your tour guide how an efficient and sustainable port operates, as well as how PBC protects the environmental values of the area. Bookings are encouraged.

The bus departs the Port of Brisbane Visitors Centre on Monday to Friday from 12.30pm.

  • Seniors and concessions $8 (on presentation of a valid ID card)
  • Children (12 & under) $5
  • Family (2 adults & 2 children) $27


Free community tours

You bring the bus and we will provide the tour guide free of charge. All free tours begin at the Visitors Centre with a guided tour of the display area, and conclude with a drive-through tour of the port. Tours must be pre-booked and we recommend that you allow a minimum of one and a half hours for your visit. Free School tours

Step out of the classroom and enhance your students understanding. You provide the bus and we provide the tour guide, free of charge. To book your school excursion or for more information, please see our School Excursions page for booking information.

Shorebird Roost

Observe migratory shorebirds at our 12ha purpose-built roost. Entry to the site is free and can be arranged by contacting the Visitors Centre on 07 3258 4677.

Fort Lytton

Thinking of taking a drive on a Sunday? You may be interested in doing a tour of Fort Lytton. This historic site, built in 1881, is one of several coastal fortifications built along Australia's coast in the 19th century to safeguard shipping lanes and ports from possible enemy raids.
