Where we are

The Port of Brisbane is the closest major container port to the country's largest export market in the Asia Pacific Rim.

The port is up to five sailing days closer to Asia than southern ports.

Situated on the southern side of the Brisbane River, just 24km from Brisbane's Central Business District, our port provides an interface between rail, road and sea transport.

Other landholdings and facilities are located at various sites including Port West at Lytton, Hemmant, Colmslie, Pinkenba, Eagle Farm, and Hamilton.

How to get to the port
The main port complex is located in the suburb, Port of Brisbane, at the mouth of the Brisbane River (south side of the river).

The speed limit on all port roads is 60km/h. Privately owned and operated wharves are located at Pinkenba, Bulwer Island, Gibson Island and the Bulimba Reach of the Brisbane River. The Multiplex owned and operated cruise terminal - Portside Wharf - is located in the Hamilton Reach of the river.

Port limits extend geographically from Port Cartwright, north of Brisbane, to Breakfast Creek, approximately 16km upstream of the river mouth, and include the 90km shipping channel.
